G’day!
What a fine day it has been. It’s getting warmer and I’m really feeling the urge to rise earlier and to eat lighter. I like the lightness!
I woke up very early this morning and listened to the birds singing their beautiful songs. It was so amazing and absolutely magical to have that as my background music as I meditated! They do say that the best things in life are free and I must second that! :O)
Breakfast
Soup from last night (squash, carrot, kombu, soya bean, peas) with spring greens
Lunch
Soup from last night with spring greens, pressed radish and millet and peas
Millet (and…ahem….peas…) with barley malt and oat cream. I decided to turn some leftover millet I had into a pudding, despite the peas!! (who said you can’t have peas for pudding!! he he!)
Dinner
Brown rice with furikake, spring greens, steamed cauliflower, tempeh with mushroom and leeks, arame & onion and pressed radish
Oat and raisin cookies with mu tea
DELICIOUS!
Thank the good old universe for such wonderful food and such a beautiful day!
Lightness & love

Good evening!
Three (meals) a day days are back! It’s been strange the last few days where I’ve found myself having only two meals (although you could probably say that all the snacks I’ve had have been meals of sorts!). I think it’s time to eat more simply again. I love the way eating more simply is followed by a desire to eat a richer more varied diet which is then followed by a desire to eat more simply and so on. It’s all just yin and yang!
Breafast
Soup from yesterday with millet and peas
Lunch
Corn pasta, carrots & spring onions, millet and peas, sauerkraut & spring greens with ume su
Rye bread with peanut butter and jam
Grain coffee
Dinner
Tonight was a potluck evening /macro gathering :O) :O) (yay!) and we had:
Soup (made with pumpkin, peas, carrot, soya beans kombu, spring onion)
Green beans with shitake, soya beans, brown rice, roasted pumpkin seeds, tahini dressing, hijiki and carrot salad with a chive and tofu dressing, a salad with various salad leavs and orange, steamed greens, pressed radishes, sauerkraut rolls
Oat cookies & bancha tea
Once again I feel blessed to have been able to share food with others who appreciate nourishing food and to be able to share ideas about macrobiotics.
Adios!

I have made lots more (onion, garlic and shoyu, daikon, carrot & clove, carrot, parsley and ume su and onion and thyme) so I can’t wait to taste them in a couple of weeks. I have some other pickles (just cauliflower and onion) that should be ready for today so I’m looking forward to trying them.
I am hosting a potluck dinner at mine tonight…yay! Exciting :O)

G’day!
Cous cous cake complete. Oh yeah! :O) Guess who will be eating cous cous cake for the next week? :O)!! (if it lasts that long that is!)
Has anyone noticed that their health foods shops have really increased the price of some things? I don’t knowif it’s just my local health food shop or if it’s a particular brand but I’m not impressed. For example, kuzu seems to have gone up by a whole fat pound. Crazy. I think I must start shopping around. I believe there is a macro shop that you can order from and they will deliver. I’ve checked out their prices and they seem fairly reasonable so I might give it a go. I also need to chat to someone I know who buys stuff in bulk and perhaps I could the same. I wish there was some kind of master macrobiotic directory that had a list of everyone, every shop, ever website that is macro…
Breakfast
Aduki truffles (yes really!!…I couldn’t help myself!)
Brown rice with baked beans – bit a strange combo but I thought I’d use up the beans and spice up my porridge at the same time!
Lunch
Cous cous with peas, bean burgers with mayo, daikon pickle, steamed spring greens, orange & wakame salad
Red bush tea with oat cream
Dinner
Soup made with leek, swede, aduki beans, brown rice, cous cous with peas, wakame & parsley
Cous cous cake with oat cream
Bancha tea
I feel as though I’ve really over induldged lately and that i must return to simply eating again…

Hello!
A few computer issues later (hence the late update) and I am pleased to be back online. Phewy!
After my liver issues on Tuesday I woke up on Wednesday (yesterday) feeling fine and dandy. It seems pretty amazing to be watching these various symptoms come and go. Our bodies are so incredible.
Breakfast
Hot water with freshly squeezed lemon juice
Plain and simple brown rice
Aduki truffles
Lunch
Steamed purple sprouting brocolli with ume su
I thought I would have just steamed veg for lunch but after having a tiny amount of breakfast, come lunch time I was so hungry and I felt like my blood sugar levels were going a little haywire. So I frantically foraged around my office and came across a tin of baked beans (sugar free of course) and just had to eat some of these aswell. It reminds me that I must replenish my food supplies at work for moments like this.
Dinner
Cous cous with peas
Bean burgers (made from the leftover aduki bean stew with just a little spelt flour, onions and carrots added) with egg free mayo and sugar free ketchup
Steamed spring greens
Cucumber, wakame and orange salad with furikake
Snacks/other
Cardamon biscuits
Toasted pumpkin seeds with shoyu
Grain coffee
Apple juice
I feel like i haven’t been drinking much lately but I haven’t wanted to and every time I think about making some tea I just don’t want any.
Maybe I’ll make a cous cous cake tonight :O) yum!

Good evening!
I think I might have some liver issues going on today and as a result I am not feeling too great. I have a slight sore throat and very mild cystitis. I think tomorrow will be good to fast or to eat very very lightly. I’ll see how I feel in the morning. I realise that I ate quite heavy foods at lunch today and as I had such a huge plate (I really need to sort out this portion control business!) I don’t think this helped. I guess just being aware of these things is a useful start. Now I just have to work on putting to good use all that I know. It’s always easier said than done though and I think we have to go through things like this in order to learn.
Breakfast
Miso soup from yesterday
Oat porridge
Lunch
Brown rice (after eating basmati rice at the weekend it made me realise that I haven’t really explored other varieties of rice other than short grain brown rice so I think I am up for a bit of exploration. The basmati rice has such a light feel to it)
Aduki bean stew with carrot and cabbage
Sauerkraut and squash
Rocket
Snacks/other
Lovely aduki truffles
1 dairy free/sugar free chocolate truffle
A square of a village bakery oat type bar
Basil tea
Some toasted pumpkin seeds with a drizzle of honey (just a drizzle as I didn’t want to experience buzzing again!!)
Love & light
