G’day!
OK before I go on I must…confess my yins…he he:
Carrot juice, 1 spelt cookie & 1 plum…and now my reasons…carrot juice - I was out with friends, cookie – I could hear this noise coming from a box in my kitchen and I soon realised it was the last remaining cookie I made a few days back and it wouldn’t stop screaming at me until I ate it & the plum – it was an offering from someone at dancing this evening and it would have been rude not to.
There, I’ve said it! :O) he he!!
I have felt noticably more grounded today after the yangness of the past few days. I think I’ll continue playing around with this as it’s interesting and I can feel that it’s beneficial.
Breakfast
Pie from yesterday (yeah, pie for breakfast!!!!!!!!!)
Roasted squash
Lunch
A vegetable wrap made with garlic, carrots, courgettes and mushrooms
Dinner
Quinoa salad

Hey!
Is it really almost the end of August?!!…time flies when you’re having fun eh?!
Today’s macro fun has involved a beautiful long cooked breakfast of sweet rice and brown rice with tekka following a lovely gently morning jog.
Lunch
I felt a little creative today so invented a pie. It was a kidney bean pie made with onions, squash and kidneys beans & was really yummy.
Sauerkraut & corn on the cob
Snacks/other
Popcorn
Cucumber
I felt thirsty today and after eating some cucumber to try to see if that would help I soon realised that my thirst wasn’t going to go away until I had a drink. So, I had a very small amount of strong twig tea :O) which was so pleasurable to drink!
I haven’t had any dinner this evening as I’ve had a pretty inactive day (other than a run this morning) and I ate too much pie and had popcorn late in the afternoon which means that come dinner time I wasn’t feeling hungry. I am sure my body will appreciate the rest from food and I’m also sure that it means breakfast tomorrow will be super nice :O) oh yeah!
OK, time for kidney replenishment a.k.a getting to bed at a reasonable time!

Blessings!
Breakfast
Miso soup from last night
Snack
Some peanut butter (oops…I couldn’t help myself!)
Lunch
Green lentils, barley, brown rice & aduki beans, green beans with a mustard dressing, fried red cabbage with roasted walnuts & oven roasted squash
Dinner
Quinoa salad made with spring onion, sweetcorn, radishes, parsley & carrot with an ume & shoyu dressing
What a relief it was to eat a yin style dinner this evening. Especially since all I could think about this afternoon was drinking twig tea even though I wasn’t thirsty. I reckon it was some kind of mind trick! Do you ever get that? You know when you decide not to have or do someting and then suddenly you find your mind is just focused on it. But I knew that it was just a passing phase and if I just watched it go by it would. And here I am about to end day 2 without a drink or any sweet style yin. Yay!
Can you imagine how many people would think it was completely crazy and impossible to go a few days without a single drink…ha ha!!
The only other thing I noticed today was that I felt myself getting a little tight after lunch so I had an ume pill which seemed to help. Let see how tomorrow goes.

Hey!
Today, with the help and support of a wonderful fellow macrotarian, I have started an experiment which goes something like this:
I am not going to have any drinks or teas or any of the more yin things like fruits or grain sweeteners etc over the next five days. So, the macro wagon is going up a gear and I’m going full steam ahead. Of course, one must be careful with things like this because if I go too yang then I’ll just ping right back the other way to too yin before I know it. However, I am certain with my knowledge of yin and yang in foods, tastes, cooking styles etc, that I can achieve a balance that will allow me to cut out the really yin things and maintain a more balanced yin. This is going to be interesting!
Breakfast
I had the most delicious breakfast this morning made of brown rice, barley and aduki beans and nothing else – this was sooo soooo sooo yummy. I know it sounds a bit dull but it was cooked for a long time in the pressure cooker and when it was done it was almost sweet and felt so nourishing and satisfying.
This was accompanied by some oven roasted squash (it seems I cannot get enough yang at the moment!).
Lunch
Barley, brown rice and aduki beans with aduki bean stew and mixed bean sprouts
Dinner
A really yummy miso soup made with fried onions, wakame, carrot, roasted squash (yeah, I put roasted squash in there which was so delicious), green lentils & parsley
Corn on the cob
Rye bread
Snacks/other
Rice cakes
Possibly some popcorn…
Wow - it’s all been so yang today but it’s felt really good. :O)

Good greetings!
Food today has been so incredible. I think partly because I didn’t eat very much yesterday but also because it was just so delicious and just cooked perfectly according to my condition…ahhh, I love it and I love macrobiotics!
Breakfast
Brown rice (cooked yesterday for a loooong time and then again this morning for half an hour or so) – this was just absolutely beautiful (he he, I can’t believe I’m calling brown rice beautiful, but it is true!). It was so soft and just felt so nourishing and delicious. I mixed in a little bit of miso to make it a little more yang which I feel I really need at the moment.
Then I had some roasted squash which was soooooo delicious!
Lunch
Miso soup made with wakame, carrot, celery & tempeh
Some seitan with mushrooms and pepper
Later in the afternoon I had a really delicious dessert made with the long cooked brown rice and millet amazake
Redbush tea with a splash of oat milk
Dinner
Some seitan with mushrooms, sweetcorn and peppers (if you ever want to set yourself a macro challenge try travelling on the underground and eating sweetcorn with chopsticks!!!!! (ha ha!!!))
I can almost hear my stomach singing to me telling me how much it enjoyed the porridge and dessert today :O) ahhh! As we are coming into the Earth transformation it’s time to start thinking about eating and living in a way that is going to heal the stomach and spleen and cooking grains longer and making lovely creamy dishes is very helpful.
I can’t wait to eat lovely food tomorrow now! I’ve been eating slightly less than normal the last few days and it feels so amazing, you should try it! :O)
Rays of love & light to you all

Hows it!
As this day comes to an end, I feel so much gratitude in my heart for macrobiotics and the way in which it is is guiding me to be more in touch with the deepest depths of my being. It’s as though it allows you to tune into the real you, your real feelings, your real desires, your real needs and when you can see that clearly, it is the most fulfilling and satisfying feeling ever!

Evening!
Today has been almost grain free (other than amazake) because the thought of eating grains is just not doing it for me at the moment! I’m not sure what all this fuss is that has been going on lately but I’m just going to go with the flow. I guess it is not about things by the book or because we feel we ought to but rather it’s about listening to your body and trying to decipher the messages…
Breakfast
Miso soup made with wakame, onion, leeks and carrot
Roasted squash (yeah..for breakfast…he he!! a.k.a a yang fix!)
Late lunch/dinner
Soup made with miso, butter beans, leeks, sweet potato, carrot, parsnip and sweetcorn
Amazake drink with lemon and kuzu
I am just about to have another amazake drink with lemon and a bit of maple syurp :O) (I don’t have rice syrup at home at the moment otherwise I would have used that)
I can’t wait to get to a health food shop tomorrow to replenish my macro supplies!
Love & light
