Ello, ello!

Christmas is almost here…yay! I’m wondering what Christmas dinner will be for me this year since I will not be partaking in the English tradition of roast turkey and all the trimmings. I was thinking that I may create a special fish dish or something…hmmm…I’m undecided what I’ll do. Part of me doesn’t want to make a big deal out of it but another part of me thinks that it’s Christmas day so I should plan something a little extra special. But what does extra special mean? Maybe something that I don’t have so often? Maybe my most favourite macro dish of all time (this would be impossible as I just could not decide as there are too many!!). I could eat the same food as my family but the thought of eating meat is not really doing it for me right now! We’ll see what happens!

Breakfast

Sweet rice cream

Lotus root tea

Lunch

The loveliest buckwheat I’ve ever eaten with watercress (this sounds sooo boring but it was sooo amazing!)

1/2 cup of bancha tea

Snack/other

A mixed nut and seed rice/oat bar

Dinner

Buckwheat noodles with a shoyu, onion and kombu broth type liquid to go over the top, tofu, brocolli, brussel sprouts & beetroot, roasted nuts

Dried apricots

Grain coffee with barley malt

Delicious food!

Goodness gracious great balls of fire! (I thought this would make a different greeting for a change!!)

I didn’t feel too clever when I woke up this morning and felt like I could have done with more sleep. However, a day at home later and I’m feeling better. I hope tomorrow I will feel even better although I know I must take it easy for a few days :)

Breakfast

Mixed grain porridge (spelt, brown rice, aduki beans & wheat) with gomasio

Lunch

Mixed grain (oops, I almost wrote brain!) paella with carrots, onion, seafood & peas

Dinner

The most amazing rice cream :) i’ve never made this before, but you make it by roasting brown rice and then grounding it down into a flour and then cooking it. Mmmm it tasted so nourishing and delicious and it felt like it was just what I needed :) Mmmm!

Bancha tea

An early night is calling me :O)

Hello!

I’m not feeling 100% today (almost like I could develop a cold but it’s not quite developing into anything!) and the reason for that is my own fault…this is a difficult concept to grasp and fully accept. It seems that many of us are conditioned to thinking that we get ill through some luck of the draw system or because it’s winter and colds are normal or whatever but that is not the case. We get ill because of poor choices that we’ve made, through a lack of understanding of nature and through our own ignorance. Maybe that sounds harsh but I am certain it is true.

There is so much I am yet to learn! But what I do know is that eating very little and very simply today has allowed me to get on with my day without feeling too bad whilst my body does it’s best to regenerate and seek balance. It is real proof for me that the body, when given a chance, wants nothing more than to be at it’s best and by not bombarding it with drugs, foods or anything, it allows the healing process to really take hold.

Breakfast

Bancha tea with umeboshi plum & a drop of shoyu

Lunch

Brown rice, wheat, spelt & aduki beans with gomasio

Dinner

Millet, brown rice, hato mugi & wheat with gomasio

Love & healing

Hello!

Today has been a little strange as I have not felt so good physically or emotionally, actually, I think that the last few days has been building up to these feelings.  I am pleased to say that I am feeling better now and really looking forward to sleep and to a new day tomorrow. It is a reminder that our difficulties in life, whatever they may be, are really blessings in disguise and that we must be grateful for the lessons they can teach us.

Breakfast

A breakfastless day after another late start

Lunch

Millet, lentils with carrot and hijiki, blanced greens, sauerkraut & stewed onion and celeriac

I have photos from today and yesterday so I’ll try to post these tomorrow :)

Bancha tea

Dinner

No dinner for me as I didn’t feel hungry.

Much love

Warm & joyful blessings to you!

It is almost 3 o’clock in the morning and I just cannot sleep! You know when you just feel so inspired and full of beans? Well, that is exactly how I am feeling at the moment!!  oooooohhh, but as I write this I’ve just realised that maybe it was something I ate earlier and my insomnia is because I literally am full of beans (cacao beans to be precise)…

Breakfast

Oat porridge, corn chips & hummous & a couple of spelt cookies (I have no idea why I ate such a strange combination of things this morning!!)

Lunch

Barley & buckwheat stew & prawns

Apple & carrot juice

Dinner

Tempeh croquettes, popcorn (popcorn for dinner is extremely lame I know but it just had to be done this evening!), spelt cookies, rice cakes with an umeboshi plum

Snack/other

A bliss/energy bomb. If you are in the UK you might know what these things are? They are little discs made from cacao & sweetened with rice syrup. I had one of these at about 4pm. But I remember a fellow macro telling me about their experience of having one of these and then not being able to sleep because of it and I wonder if it it is having the same effect on me? Cacao is far too yin, and whilst it is really delicious, it’s not so clever to eat such tropical delights…it’s particularly not good for the kidneys so no wonder I’m wide awake…DOHHH!!!

On the subject of sleeping, I have not been having the greatest of sleeps recently. I am trying a new sleeping technique at the moment which gives me this sense of being in some kind of conscious state whilst sleeping. It’s difficult to describe but it’s almost like lucid sleeping! I guess I also feel that many things are going on internally for me too and maybe the insomnia it a way of processing everything.

OK, so today’s food was weird & tonight’s sleeping (or lack of!) is also weird. I hope tomorrow will be normal (whatever normal means!!). I’m gonna whole grain it to the max tomorrow, super size me style!! Oh yes!

Lots of whole grain lovin!

Helloooooo!

It’s super late at the moment and before I get myself to bed, I thought I’d better post!

Today has been a really good one. I went to a macro meeting this evening and now I feel super inspired and excited about everything! :O) It’s good when you find ways of keeping the flame inside alive, if you know what I mean?

Breakfast

Miso soup from yesterday, a tempeh croquette & a small amount of buckwheat & apple dessert :O)

Bancha tea

Lunch

Brown rice sushi, stewed cauliflower and peas, roasted squash, sauerkraut & tempeh croquettes (mmm tempeh croquettes are really yummy!)

Buckwheat, apple & walnut dessert – I was so impressed with this lovely, simple yet truly magnificently (for real!) dessert…mmm. I made it by cooking the buckwheat and then adding a little extra water and cooking it for a little longer at first (oh, I roasted it first!), then I mixed some pre-stewed apples in, then some malt syrup and then I added roasted walnuts…mmmmmm!! Try it!

Carrot & apple juice

Sugar & dairy free chocolate

Dinner

I wasn’t really hungry tonight and it turned into a bit of a eating just for the sake of it episode. I was at the meeting and there was food there so I had a little nibble, and then I couldn’t resist eating a biscuit…or 6…ok, that’s not very macrobiotic…

Corn chips, hummous, guacamole, a rice cracker, roasted almonds, sunflower and pumpkin seeds and plenty of carob coated sugar free biscuits & 1/2  a cup of bancha tea

Divine love & light
