Hello!

Brown rice fast fi-nito!! :O)

Today I decided that I would stop the brown rice fast one day early i.e. tomorrow but on my way home from work I became far too excited about the possibility of eating other food that I decided to have some soup for dinner this evening :) ))

I am going to be eating out & probably having an ale or two on Sunday and I’m not sure it would be so wise to finish the fast the day before, hence my reason to stop now.

I weighed myself today and I am now 53.8kg (from 55.3kg)/8st.6 (from 8st.9) so I lost 3lb.

Breakfast

Rice cream with barley malt & cinnamon

Lunch

Rice cream with shoyu & gomasio

Dinner

Miso soup with onion, wakame, carrot & bean sprouts

Green tea

Ahh, it’s nice to be eating other food again :) ) yeahhhhh!!

Bonjour!

Another busy day and another day where I haven’t felt so aware of the fact that I’m doing a brown rice fast. It feels really kind of easy now, which is not what I felt the last time I did it! What I mean by easy is that I’m not obsessing about food or about only eating brown rice, I don’t feel tired and I don’t feel hungry. I just feel kind of good!

I’m going to weigh myself tomorrow as I won’t get a chance to do that on Saturday or Sunday. I am intrigued to know what the scales will tell me.

Breakfast

Sweet rice with shoyu

Bancha tea

Lunch

Brown rice (the leftovers from cream put in the oven so the top bit goes crispy and underneath is soft) folded over into a kind of pie with shoyu

Dinner

The same as lunch

Grain coffee

Do you know what time it is? Hip bath time!!!!!!! The other night I had a hip bath by candlelight which was really nice and last night I had a hip bath in front of the log fire which was beautiful! I have one bag of dried daikon leaves left which is just enough for two more hip baths (after tonight) – perfect!! :) yay!

Sweet macro lovin

Howdy!

Today I have wondered am I really on a brown rice fast?  It doesn’t feel like I am because everything feels so normal, other than the lack of food I am eating! But I don’t feel hungry or tired or weak or anything.

Breakfast

Beautiful brown rice cream. I am in love with this stuff.

Lunch

Brown rice crispy cracker with shoyu. It was nice having a bit of a crunch munch today!

Bancha tea

Dinner

Rice milk  from sweet rice

I don’t really have any desire for any other food at the moment. It seems I’ve reached some kind of brown rice fast plateau.

Now I must finish off with cooking brown rice for tomorrow & prepare another hip bath.

Macro love

Good good evening!! :)

Today has gone really well and I’ve found myself almost oblivious to being on a rice fast! I think that is because I’ve been busy but I also really enjoyed rice cream for breakfast this morning and baked rice this afternoon. It makes such a difference when you alter the cooking style.

It’s a good lesson in learning how to be versatile with ingredients. OK, you have the same ingredient but how many ways can you cook it? :)

I think I could just have rice cream for the rest of the fast and be very satisfied with that. Have you tried it before? Mmmm it’s sooooo lovely and feels sooo nourishing. I can’t believe I’ve never made this before!

After making the rice cream, I put the rest of the rice in the oven and baked it for a little while with some shoyu. When I took it out of the oven this morning it was crispy on top and the rice underneath was all soft. I was able to fold this into a kind of pitta/sandwich kind of thing.  It was really nice to eat it and felt like I was eating a brown rice sandwich! Amazing!!  I am hoping to pull it off again tonight as another brown rice sandwich for tomorrow would be exciting!

I’m looking forward to seeing how I will feel tomorrow :)

No psoriasis to report.

I have noticed that I’ve had dreams every night since being on the fast although my sleep has felt deep and undisturbed. Today I feel like I have much more energy compared to other days. Lets see how it goes.

After yesterday, I realise that carrot juice & ginger is far too yin if I am on a brown rice fast. Everything is relative and although of course it’s not as yin as many other things, when you’ve only eaten brown rice for a few days that then makes it much more yin. It’s like the point of balance is continuously shifting all the time and it’s important to be aware of this.

OK, it’s hip bath time! It’s going to feel strange on Sunday evening going to bed without having a one!!

Hello :O)

Is it really only day 5??!! he he!

Today has been interesting. This morning I really felt sick of brown rice. For breakfast I had gomasio and brown rice and I didn’t find it so appetising. I also had a cup of fresh ginger tea which I really loved (mmm, yin!). This afternoon I couldn’t face brown rice and gomasio again so I ate the brown rice on it’s own and ate a little spoonful of gomasio on it’s own. Then this evening, I had brown rice with a sprinkling of ume vinegar which was yummy and some fresh carrot and ginger juice that I heated up a little bit. That probably sounds pretty grim, but it was sooo delicious. It felt like I was drinking some kind of zingy milkshake type drink (mmm, I love the way carrot juice is so soft and kind of creamy!).

Well, it seems after yin this evening, it caused some of my emotions (emotions - the meaning of the word is basically energy in motion…) to come to the surface pretty swiftly. I find this incredibly interesting how if I don’t have any yin for a while and then I have some,  it suddenly brings some of my emotions to the surface very quickly. I guess it’s kind of helpful in a way as it highlights some areas of my emotional life that I need to work on and resolve. But it’s not very balanced!

It is just further proof to me how the food we eat can really determine how we feel and where our energy goes. Does it come up and out quickly or does it stay inside? or does it not know where to go?? Now I feel like I must really contact a deep place within me (some inner strength) in order for me to deal and heal the emotions that came up today. So, it seems from yin back to yang…of course!!

I have made some rice cream for tomorrow and I’m just baking in some rice with shoyu. I am very keen to brown rice cooked in a different way tomorrow. :) yayy!

Nothing much else seems to be happening at the moment. I was looking forward to getting up early this morning and going to yoga but when my alarm went off at 5am I felt too tired to get up then and opted for longer in bed. I haven’t felt as tired today but I am really loving sleep.

My elbow feels a little itchy and I wonder if psoriasis will make another appearance (like what happened on the last rice fast? Hmmm, we’ll see!).

4 more days to go…

Time to prepare another bath for my hips!!

Lots of love & energy in motion!
