Greetings!
Ahh, it’s great to be back after another incredible, eye-opening, heart-warming & transformative weekend. I thank my lucky stars that I am doing what I am doing because it is just so so so amazing and I am truly blessed to be taught and guided by two highly evolved & compassionate souls.
I didn’t end up recording everything I ate because I wanted to be more present with what was going on. However, I did take some photos which will give you some idea.
I am feeling really excited at the prospect of becoming a Macrobiotic & Life Counsellor
yayy!
Whilst I am on the subject, I am now looking for clients who would like to have consultations with me including two follow up sessions. Not only are these free of charge (as I am in training at the moment) but it is a great opportunity to gain insight and advice into your health from a holistic perspective so please get in touch if you are interested.
Day 28
Breakfast
A one pot brown rice dish with onion, dried daikon, dulse, squash, miso & roasted pumpkin seeds with a little sauerkraut

I just got back from a MBA (Macrobiotic Association of Great Britain) meeting and feeling very excited about the future of macrobiotics!
Now it’s time to give my body some rest whilst my soul goes on an adventure!

Howdy!
I’ve had a really great day. Today we were learning more counselling skills and had a chance to practice and develop these. It’s a really wonderful process to go through because as we practise these I become more aware of my own issues or areas that need healing, and to have that insight is so advantageous.
Breakfast
A small bowl of miso soup
Brown rice porridge & a little steamed cabbage
Lunch
Noodles in broth, tofu & squash tempura, blanced broccoli, daikon & carrot with ume dressing
Dinner
Squash soup
Brown rice, pressed daikon & radish salad, black beans, carrot pickles & veg stir fry
1 waffle (I avoided a more yin dessert today as I already felt fairly yin, but I couldn’t resist sharing one of these with a fellow macrotarian)
Bancha tea
Ahh I love the countryside!

Hola!
Day 20
Breakfast
No thing!
Lunch
Mugwort mochi with shoyu & brown rice vinegar
Rice cakes with shoyu & brown rice vinegar – I made a great discovery yesterday after having mochi. Basically, I kind of drowned the mochi in shoyu and rice vinegar & was left thinking that it would be a shame to waste the shoyu and vinegar still on my plate. So, I used some rice crackers to mop it up and mmmm…
I really love the salt and vinegar taste and I am very sure it is because my childhood consisted of lots of salt and vingear on chips and crisps!. One of my favourite things I used to eat at home was a plate of home made chips with a load of butter and vinegar!!!!. Oh man, I think my arteries are contracting just at the thought, especially as my Mum always used (and still uses!!) good old lard!!!
A dessert made from fresh strawberries, cous cous & roasted almonds – mmmm!
Grain coffee with soya milk
Dinner
Popcorn – ok this is not such a clever dinner to have but every once in a while is ok. I wasn’t that hungry when it came to dinner time but I was about to watch a movie!
I had salted popcorn but I also made some ‘luxury’ popcorn too. You’ll have to check out www.macrobiotics.org.uk for a photo and recipe of how to make this.
Day 21
Breakfast
No thing
Lunch
No thing again
Dinner
Fresh brown rice cream with shoyu (ahh I really love this stuff)
Millet and tofu bake with pressed chicory, radish and cucumber salad (see macrobiotics.org website for recipe and picture)
Mmmm!
Sweet macro love

Hi!
I’ve been feeling really tired when I wake up in the mornings and I think it is because my kidney energy is a little low. So tomorrow I must begin with some serious kidney loving action (actually, I am beginning that this evening by making sure I have an early night!).
Breakfast
Barley porridge with shoyu.
Lunch
Millet salad with barley & sprouted wheat bread with raisins – mixed together. OK, this sounds a little strange but it worked really well. The grain salad was a little watery and sour and the bread mixed into it soaked up the moisture and the sweetness of the raisins was really nice.
Dinner
Miso broth with spelt pasta, wakame, carrot & onion
Stewed apple with roasted nuts & oat flakes. It is becoming clearer and clearer that my stomach and liver do not like too many nuts so I’m going to try avoiding these as much as possible. Also, I shouldn’t have really had fruit this evening as my kidneys will not thank me! (oops – sorry dear kidneys!).
I can’t wait to go to Serbia soon for the macro seminar over there. I am really looking forward to learning a new approach to cooking. I am eager to learn and looking forward to seeing how I will feel after a week of eating in that particular way
OK, time for some love my kidneys time!

Howdy!
Today I had one of those really fulfilling days which I love
Breakfast
Nothing for my hungerlessness this morning!
Lunch
Millet salad with radishes, onions, carrot, garlic & rocket
Sprouted wheat bread with raisins (this was a bit like a cake!)
Dinner
Millet salad
Carrot & apple juice
Tomorrow I am really looking forward to having some barley…mmmm!
I thought I’d have a look to see what I was eating this time last year and it’s sooo interesting. It seems my diet is becoming much more simple and less wide ranging. I guess I am learning more and more and applying this – yay!! Long may it continue
OK, time for zzzzs. I keep promising myself an early night but that seems to be proving impossible lately (grrr – note to self: make more time for self!).
Love, light & more love & more light (cos you can never have enough love or light!)

Hello Peeps!
Yesterday was a brown rice cream and brown rice day all day again – ahhh! I really love that. But today I decided that I’d had enough and that it was time to get out of the brown rice zone and into a more ‘normal’ one…
Breakfast
Brown rice & sweet rice
Lunch
Brown rice & miso & sprouted wheat bread
Dinner – back to normality!
Quinoa salad (with a tiny amount of cashews, peas, pumpkin seeds & chickpeas) & a dessert made from oats, tofu & apricots
It has been great to experiment with fasting again and it helps me realise and understand myself and macrobiotics further. I really feel a greater sense of clarity when I fast and I really enjoy that.
Next week I begin the third year of my studies and I’m really looking forward to it. I have a feeling that it is going to be a somewhat profound year (well, 16 months to be precise!)!
OK, time to go.
Laku noc!!
Love
Sharlene
