Hello :)

Breakfast

Miso soup from last night with barley pasta, leftover pizza & leftover sweet rice cake

Lunch

Quinoa salad & buckwheat noodles with a lovely sauce made from sauerkraut juice, miso & tahini

A dessert made with nuts, brown rice cream & melon (I’m experimenting for a cooking class!) & some sweet rice cake

A very small amount of grain coffee

Dinner

Aduki bean soup made with kombu, leeks, carrots, aduki beans & garlic

Cous cous, peas and onions, whole wheat flat bread, steamed brocolli & sauerkraut

1/2 a beer

Food glorious food!

Someone made a comment the other day that I must spend my life washing up. He he! It is true that cooking fresh food every day takes time and effort but if you can understand the connection between food and health then you don’t mind paying that price. It seems like a small price to pay for such a valuable investment…

I’ve had an ultra busy weekend and glad to be sitting down to write!

Day 28

Breakfast

Oat porridge – mmm so creamy and satisfying (with shoyu)

Lunch

Carrot, beetroot, celery & cucumber juice

Sweet rice porridge with rice crackers

Brown rice bar with seeds

Dinner

Oat and courgette burger &  a corn salad

Ale – lots of ale! I was at a beer festival so I sampled quite a few ales from all over the UK. MMMmm I love ale!

Oat, miso & sauerkraut waffles, olives

Some fish & chips

Lager

More food = fish burger & chips & a onion bajhi sandwich

Breakfast

Absolutely nothing (other than a little bite out of an umeboshi plum) after yesterday’s feast!

Now I am sooo looking forward to bed after a very late night last night, not very much sleep and a hard day’s work! I love going to bed knowing that the sleep is well deserved! :)

Brown rice with gomasio, wheat crackers with onion, seitan stew with marrow carrot an onion & pressed cabbage and carrot salad

A beautiful little dessert made with oats, raisins, avacado & cocoa & a puffed rice dessert

Hello :)

I have returned from another amazing trip to Serbia. Now it seems that life is about to change again as we prepare for another move (we are relocating!). You know, I am pretty certain that I must have been a nomad or a gypsy or something in a previous life because this will be about the 40th (at least) time I’ve moved in my life! Crazy hey? Nonetheless, I am really excited and looking forward to a change of energy & surroundings which I always find very inspiring!

I got to spend some time in the mountains in Serbia away from civilisation – ahhh it was magical & very helpful for learning more deeply about macrobiotics and this wonderful life!

It was kind of fun to have some non macro food too. I used to feel kind of naughty and perhaps a little guilty for doing this kind of thing before but now it feels fun and I like to just embrace it and enjoy whatever it is I’m eating & drinking. I know that that is just for that moment and that I will always return to eating for health (rather than just for pleasure). In some way, it’s like a challenge & it can be really interesting to see what kind of effect it has on one’s being!

Ume, sho, kuzu drink (made with umeboshi plum, shoyu & kuzu)

Dinner

A beautiful lotus root & wakame miso soup

Pizza with a brown rice base topped with squash, pepper, tofu & black olives

A creamy millet dish made with radishes and white miso

Sauerkraut

Ahhh!! You just cannot beat proper food!!!

Good Greetings!!!

I must apologies for going a.w.o.l! I have been in Serbia for the past few days and I haven’t found the time to write.

I have found the time, however, to eat some wonderful macro food, spend some time in nature and to connect to the wonderful energy that is all around us.  Ahhh!

Yesterday, I engaged in some ‘non macro eating’. I had some white bread and also a dessert (I’ll have to post a photo of it when I return – it was some kind of pancake with this chocolatey creamy sauce) which was cool and interesting! My stomach certainly finds it very interesting this morning!

So, just to let you know that I’ll be back in a couple of days & look forward to keeping you up to date.
