Hello!

I am sitting in the kitchen as I write this waiting for some Ohsawa bread to bake and waiting for brown rice to finish doing it’s thing in the pressure cooker. I’m going to be away for the next few days and I’m not sure what the food situation is going to be so I’m going to take some things to make sure I can’t eat well :)

Breakfast

Nothing

Lunch

Aduki miso soup

Buckwheat with onions, shoyu & tahini, dried daikon & carrots, salad made of lettuce, red onions & oven baked tofu & takuan pickle & some natto

Last night I got my Mum to try some natto and HA HA HA HA HA!! Natto is one of those things that you either love or hate and she hated it!! I was surprised that she wanted to try a bit and for a split second it looked like she was going to like. But then she couldn’t spit it out soon enough and said it was probably the worst thing she’d EVER tasted!!!  He he he he he! My husband hates it too!!

Carrot juice

Dinner

The same as dinner :)

Museli with apple juice

A whole load of wholesome macro love

Good Evening!

Another macrolicious day passes by:

Breakfast

Nothing again! Mmm, this seems to be my favourite breakfast at the moment!

Lunch

Lentil soup from yesterday, millet with tekka, cabbage, sauekraut, takuan pickle & brown rice, aduki & wheat burger with umeboshi dressing

Sprouted wheat bread with ginger and chestnuts (this was my dessert)

Dinner

No dinner! I wasn’t hungry so I’m not eating! There have been too many times when I’ve eaten just because it’s ‘time’ but I’m trying to break out of this habit.

No drinks today :)

I’m really enjoying my new regime of not having any sweet desserts in the week but enjoying them over the weekend instead. This structure is really helpful for me. I know that if I say I can’t have anything then something inside me panics and I want more as a result of that, but if I say to myself, ok, no sweet desserts in the week, but I can have non sweet/fruit ones (like squash, chestnuts etc) then I feel alot better. Plus, it’s sooo nice having something to look forward to at the weekend and feeling like I have earned dessert! It feels like such a revelation to find a way of eating that works!

Squash, onion & carrot soup with arame

Wheat cracker, brown rice, millet, carrots, onions & squash mash with pumpkin and sunflower seeds & sauerkraut

Today’s food:

Twig tea – ahh I love this stuff!

Dinner

Whole wheat & buckwheat noodles, with onions, garlic, ginger, carrot, leeks and furikake, natto with shoyu & mustard (natto smells pretty disgusting and perhaps you might find it a little gross to taste too. I used to find it strange but I must admit it is growing on me!), sauerkraut cabbage rolls

Lovely food! I’ve decided to try and avoid desserts in the week and this is my second week of doing so. I must admit I feel sooo much better and more alive!

I was at the doctors today and I found it sooo interesting to see how my doctor dealt with me & my questions. I found myself dreaming about the day when we can walk into a doctors and it is all macrofied, ahhh! I love this dream! One day it will be reality for sure, I know it!

Hey!

Yesterday’s food was:

Breakfast

Sweet rice & oat waffles with white miso & with tahini & malt syrup

Lunch

Brown rice & barley paella, olives, sauerkraut, pressed cucumber

Brown rice cakes with raisin, tahini, malt syrup & pumpkin seeds

Dinner

Red lentil soup with wakame

Cous cous and buckwheat with chestnuts, onion & swede stewed, pressed cucumber

Grain coffee

and today’s food:

Breakfast

Home made oat milk

More home made oat milk with an umeboshi plum

Lunch

Rice cakes with sauerkraut

Oat milk

Dinner

Rice cakes with black olives

Oat milk

Mmmm! I love home made grain milks. I used to love rice milk (you know the stuff you can get ready made), but after a while, I could feel that it just isn’t so good to be drinking that kind of stuff so often. It’s really processed and it contains lots of ingredients. If you are new to macrobiotics, then it is wonderful to use instead of milk, but over time, it’s important, especially if you want your condition to improve, to wean yourself off of it and if you need a replacement, make your own! It’s much more satisfying, affordable and nutritious!
