Hello!

The end of January is here & woo hoo, I did it! :) But guess what? I’m doing the same for February – no desserts for moi ;) It really agrees with me. As long as I can have a cup of tea after dinner then that makes me feel really satisfied at the moment.  I have got myself into a routine after eating dinner, I wash the dishes and put some tea on and really look forward to finishing the dishes and having tea!!

Breakfast

Quinoa and brown rice porridge with a dash of shoyu

Lunch

Kidney bean & lotus soup

Buckwheat burgers, quinoa & millet, steamed cabbage & blanced daikon with a lemon dressing, a squash & wakame dish & some beetroot with rice vinegar

A cup of twig tea

Dinner

Quinoa & millet, buckwheat burger, daikon & cabbage, sauerkraut & beetroot

a small handful of walnuts & a lovely cup of nettle and mint tea – mmmm soooo soothing & opening!

I didn’t tell you, I passed my macro exams – yayy! I am thrilled!

OK, so February tomorrow and it’s time to set myself some new goals for the month. No desserts definitely, but I want to give the no baked flour foods or nuts a go too. Maybe I should just do one . I would choose no baked flour but I’ll try them both and see how I get on. I feel excited about February!!!

No dinner tonight :) & I’m already looking forward to breakfast :)

I made a whole load of pickles today :)

It’s almost the end of January and that will be one whole fat gigantic month without a dessert. wow!!! If I can go a whole month without a dessert, I can do anything…he he he!

Oat cake, nishime carrot & parsnip, quinoa & steamed cabbage & pressed salad

Then some rye cakes with hummus

Hey!

The end of January is almost here & I’m a little astonished at how quickly time has passed this year. I feel like I’m caught up in some kind of spiral or whirlwind!

Breakfast

Nothing for me today

Lunch

Some pastry I made the other day, buckwheat with tahini & shoyu, steamed kale, nishime carrot & parsnip, a couple of lovely little tofu tarts that my husband made (ahh, he’s great!) & a couple of home made pickles.

Followed by a cup of twig tea

Dinner

Brown rice with mixed vegetables, mochi, squash tempura & sauerkraut

Grain coffee

WOW, I made it through the day without having any nuts. My nut habit was seriously getting out of hand and I’m glad I’ve managed a day without any!

I made my niece some fudge today & you’d be very proud of me as I didn’t even lick the spoon! :) and there’s some fudge left in the fridge. Maybe I’ll have a bit on the 1st of Feb, or maybe, just maybe I won’t! who knows.

I’m starting to feel like it’s time for a bit of a cleanse…

Nothing for me this morning as I wasn’t hungry!

Some roasted soya nuts – oops, not a great lunch!

Twig tea

Dinner

Seitan & millet croquettes, mushroom, carrot & onion pie, tofu pizza, pressed salad, tofu sauce/mayo & really delicious pickles

Beetroot & parsnip chips & carrot juice

No desserts and it’s almost the end of January! woo hoo. The funny thing is is that I don’t actually care about not having a dessert! I am really amazed by this. I have to be careful now though as I feel that over eating is beginning to creep back in and I’m eating a little too much and when I’m not hungry. It seems old eating habits are difficult to break. But I am sure with continued awareness and reminders that I can change this. I WILL change it!! ;)

OK, I better post & get on with a few other things before bed. Oh yes, and by the way, I didn’t snack the other evening. I went into the kitchen, had a little scout around and realised that eating so late was pointless for many reasons!

Barley & brown rice salad (with onion, mushroom, kale, carrot, radish) with fried mochi (mmm I love mochi!) & some really delicious pastry that I haven’t eaten for sooo long and I really really enjoyed!

Roasted & salted cashew nuts & popcorn – I shouldn’t really have eaten these but I did

Delicious mugwort mochi with shoyu & vinegar

A couple of cashew nuts

Roasted cod, barley & brown rice salad (with umeboshi radishes, pressed chinese cabbage, grated carrot, orange juice (I had a little sip of this today and ahh it was good, does that count as a dessert?!!) & spring onion

Twig tea

Dinner

Brown rice with gomasio, millet & tofu quiche,  (I’ll be posting a picture and recipe on www.macrobiotics.org.uk soon so watch out for that :) ), delicious greens, lovely sweet nishime carrot & parsnip & gherkin pickle, cucumber pickle & ginger pickle

Bancha tea

Some pistachio nuts – I decided to buy some of these for my journey home & whilst doing so, I realised that I need to impose a nut ban on myself! No nuts it is then!

I’m having one of these evenings where I feel really hungry but I don’t think I really am! Do you ever get that?!!

OK, time for zzzzs although I’m tempted to check out the kitchen for a midnight snack. I haven’t done that for ages…will I or won’t I??!…

Roasted & salted cashew nuts – I really must stop eating so many nuts!

I am beginning to think how nice it would be to have a dessert, not because I want the sweet taste but because I can imagine how expansive and relaxing it would be…ahhh. I was dreaming about some hot apple juice or some grain coffee with rice milk. Not long to go til the end of January and that will be one whole month without a dessert, wow. It is a miracle!!

Nothing as I wasn’t hungry but then I had a little snack of a couple of chestnuts later in the morning

Buckwheat and millet ball, corn chips & hummus & roasted seeds

Dinner

Corn chips, corn crackers & hummus – my stomach doesn’t feel so good now…corn chips are really not so good!

I’m keeping this short & sweet as I must sleep now!

Hello!

Woahhhh! I’m in some kind of time warp at the moment & I can’t quite believe how quickly time is passing!

Breakfast

Miso soup with carrot, onion & arame & spring greens

Porridge (brown rice & mixed flakes) & roasted seeds

Then later in the day a handful of nuts

Lunch

Squash soup, buckwheat balls with tahini & shoyu sauce (mmm, I know this sounds strange but it tasted like chocolate to me!) with some broccoli & carrot

Corn chips

Chestnuts

Fennel, nettle & peppermint tea

Dinner

Buckwheat pasta with a creamy mushroom & rocket sauce, roasted parsnips, blanched broccoli & a squash & tomato bean dish

Twig tea

Mmm, amazing food with amazing people :) yay!

I’m not capable of writing much else at the moment and must really get myself to bed!
