Hello again!

So, now is today!!  I’ve eaten wonderful food & I feel great.

Breakfast

A cup of twig tea mmm. We didn’t have any twigs in the house for a while so this was lovely having some again!

Lunch

Sprouted mixed bean, swede & wakame soup

Millet & squash, brown rice & barley, roasted parsnips & squash, pickled gherkin & daikon with kombu & a pressed carrot, radish & fennel salad :)

Oh I do have a confession…I had a couple of almonds, but only a couple :) & it was because I felt like I really REALLY wanted them! I thought that was fair to give myself them considering I haven’t had any dessert for 18 days now – woo. Oh, on this subject, I did have on Sunday a little bit of a seitan dish that I made which had some fruit concentrate & rice syrup in it, but I only had a very small amount. So so far,  I’ve had coconut cream & a little bit of that but that has been it! I even picked out some raisins that were in my porridge one morning in Devon. I must admit no desserts really suits me, I like it, and I’m soooo surprised that I am not having cravings for sweet things!

When I first started getting serious about macrobiotics there was no way I could not have a dessert, but now, a few years later, it seems it is possible!! wow!

A cup of twig tea

Dinner

Some more soup from lunch

Millet & squash, a mouthful of barley & brown rice, a boiled salad of cabbage, cauliflower, greens (a bit like watercress) & olives

And now I think I’ll have some of the water from the vegetables as my after dinner drink :) Mmmm!

I really had such an amazing weekend in Devon where I felt another part of my personal healing jigsaw clicked into place. Like a bit of jigsaw towards wholeness & boy I feel so so sooooooo incredibly grateful, blessed & fortunate to have discovered macrobiotics & the macro school. I realise I was a little lost until I found it!

OK, enough. I’m gonna have that drink :)

A whole load of wholeness & love & light & fulfilment

Hello!

I’m here, I’m back & I’m ready for action!! I think having no desserts is definitely making me more yang because I feel like doing doing and more doing!! But unfortuntately, yesterday I didn’t get a chance to do what I wanted i.e. updating on here because I was just so busy and I felt like I just couldn’t do any more. Today, however, I had a lie in & a day at home, albeit a very busy day at home, and now I feel better than ever and so ready for life!! yayyy! I am ready ;)

So what did I eat yesterday? Hmmm…what about the days before? I really can’t remember everything whilst I was in Devon. But yesterday…

Breakfast

Barley flakes with chestnuts for breakfast

Lunch

Brown rice,  broccoli & carrot, steamed onions, courgette pie & I was supposed to have an aduki and squash dish but I somehow forgot to pack it in my lunchbox in the morning as I was leaving!!!

I also had some roasted mixed seeds (linseeds, sunflower, pumpkin & sesame)

Dinner

I didn’t have anything for dinner as I wasn’t hungry at all. I was so engrossed in doing stuff too that I just didn’t feel like eating! I did have a nice cup of twig tea though

Greetings!

Just a brief message from me as I’m not getting much free time during my time in Devon (Zzzzzz!). I’ve been eating really lovely food, no desserts (yay!) and Ive so far managed to avoid any dressings etc with rice syrup in. I’ve also not had any bread or baked stuff – yippee! I’m quite proud of myself :) Plus, I don’t feel like I’m missing out or as those I’d really like to have a dessert yet. I’ve eaten a few chestnuts after meals a few times.

Today I had:

Breakfast

Miso soup, porridge, greens, sauerkraut & roasted seeds

Chestnuts

Lunch

Quinoa salad, greens, lentils & tempura fish and prawns (mmmmm!!) & a pressed salad

Fennel tea

Dinner

We had alot of earth foods today from an earth cooking class we did so I had millet soup, millet and squash, aduki & squash, brocolli with a tahini, mustard dressing, mmm what else??…oh yeah, nishime veg :) I avoided a few other things because they had rice syrup in.

We’ve been having amazing chi qong classes in the mornings too & learning lots of amazing things :)

OK, I must get to bed!

Loads of macro love & blessings,

I love it & it just makes me feel even more, not that i wasn’t feeling it of course, that I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Macrobiotics. I LOVE MACROBIOTICS!!! He he!

Breakfast

Nothing but good wishes, hopes & deep breaths for the exams!!

Lunch

A selection of foods that myself and other students cooked followed by some bancha tea

Dinner

Mushroom soup

Millet croquette, buckwheat croquette, black beans, brocolli & a pressed radish, cucumber & carrot salad

Nettle & peppermint tea which was sooo nice!

Good Evening!

I woke up feeling really hungry this morning and I intended to make some milk but I left the flakes on for a little longer after being distracted so I decided that I’d have porridge instead – made from barley flakes :)

Lunch

Red lentil soup, quinoa salad, tofu bake with a squash sauce, olive & lettuce salad, arame & mushrooms & boiled veg salad

Do you notice anything about my lunch? It’s not really so well balanced for winter! I was practising for a cooking exam tomorrow and my topic is to cook a meal for summer.

I did a really really stupid thing today too – I tried a bit of coconut cream as I’d never had it before and wow, it completely, totally, seriously yinned me out. I’ve never felt such a strong effect from tropical yin before. I only had a little bit but it was enough to get me high!! If you’ve never experienced anything like this before you’ll probably think I’m a bit of a fruit cake talking about getting high from coconut cream!! Anyway, I really didn’t enjoy this experience & I’m not touching any more of that stuff. Tropical fruits & veg should be illegal because they are delicious but kind of deadly (if you know what I mean ;) (obviously, they are not so if you live in a trpical climate!!)

Dinner

The same as lunch but with a carrot, pepper & leek stir fry

Sparkling water

Today has really been a good lesson for me & I feel colder, and defintely more yin after ‘summer food’.

Time for dreams. I reckon I’m going to dream about root veg & brown rice tonight!

Hello :)

So yesterday went something like this:

Breakfast

Nothing

Lunch/Dinner – all rolled into one!

Rice cakes, hummus & sprouts

Carrot juice

Rice crackers and corn crisps (meant for babies – they are yum!)

I shouldn’t eat rice crackers or crisps so I’m going to avoid them now too!

Hey!

I’m a little late with posting as I spent the morning in a beautiful little Serbian village and then we travelled back later and didn’t make it home until really late.

Breakfast

Home made grain milk

Lunch

Buckwheat & millet with sauerkraut & delicious roasted pumpkin

Dinner

Buckwheat, millet & cabbage with roasted almonds and sunflower seeds

Corn chips and a little carrot puree (baby food!!! we bought a jar of baby food at the airport as this was the only pure thing we could find!!)

Last night (evening of 8th) I went out with friends. I had mineral water to start wit but then I had one whiskey. It was really nice but my body doesn’t appreciate it, even just a little drop!! No more whiskey for me!

I also forgot to mention that I had a couple of crisps yesterday too, probably about a handful in total!

OK, time for bed. I will update today (10th) tomorrow.

Love

Sharlene
