Hello dear followers!

How are you doing?

I wanted to share something with you from an amazing book called The Hidden Messages in Water by Masuru Emoto. If you haven’t read this book already, you must!:

‘In my opinion, a doctor who treats the human body must first be a philosopher. In the past, the doctor was the community shaman or priest, exhorting people to follow the laws of nature, live their lives correctly, and make use of the healing powers found in nature.
If doctors were to treat not only the sick parts of the body but also the human consciousness, then I think we would see a great reduction in the need for doctors and hospitals. People with ailments would go to their nearby philosopher, for help in understanding the mistakes they have made, and then go home determined to live a better life. It may well be that the physicians of the future will be more like counsellors than the doctors we have today’

It seems to me that this is exactly what macrobiotics is about :)

Today I shall not write about what I have eaten, but perhaps tomorrow!

Love, light & gratitude

Good Morning!

I’m sipping a cup of chicory tea with oat cream & barley malt. Mmmm! Just what I need to soothe me into the day! Isn’t it incredible how we can use food to help us!

So, yesterday’s food:
Breakfast
Miso soup with soya beans, carrot, onion & wakame
Brown rice porridge with apple & roasted sunflower seeds

Lunch
Millet & squash, aduki bean stew, carrots with a mustard dressing, pressed cucumber & radish salad & Cinese cabbage & sweetcorn salad

Followed by a raspberry kanten with a coconut topping

Dinner
Was a little bit of everything (nishime veg, sushi, aduki beans). You know when you cook and you end up trying loads of things?… :)

My new mission is to heal my spleen imbalance which seems rather prominent at the moment so my focus is going to be on having small meals which will be very well cooked & with lots of spleen loving foods. Yesterday I became very aware of a pattern I follow with food & emotions – one that I have followed my whole life, even in my macro days. It’s great that I realise it but now I have, I have to do something about it. I can’t hide from it, amongst it, behind it any more…eek!!! This is good but it’s also scary!

Have a beautiful love filled, heart warming day

Hello!

It’s been a while…again. I am experiencing what it probably the busiest time of my entire life right now and feeling really snowed under, hence my lack of posting. My macro studies/training is really hotting up as the final stages are before me and there is so much to do before now and October (when I have final exams…eek!). So I may be a little sporadic in my posting over the next coming weeks but I promise I’ll do my best to post regularly.

Today my macro menu included:

Breakfast – a small cup of kukicha with a little umeboshi plum
Lunch – brown rice cream, roasted parsnips & boiled squash & broccoli
Dinner – brown rice cream, boiled squash & broccoli followed by some delicious oat & wheat carrot & ginger cake I made yesterday with some brown rice kuzu cream custard

Much love & macrobioticness

Hello!

I’ve just eaten lunch and it suddenly struck me how eating macrobiotically is so normal to me now. Before I became a macrotarian I wasn’t familiar with grains, sea veg or even beans really and now I’m a fully fledged macro! It’s amazing how one can turn life around just through food choices. yay!

Yesterday I didn’t have breakfast or lunch as I wasn’t hungry but for dinner I had a lovely bowl of spelt spaghetti with a squash & carrot sauce with beans, sauerkraut & mushrooms. Mmm!

This was followed by some really lovely coconut macaroons & chicory coffee

Much love and macrobioticness

Hello!

Today I ate only vegetables (apart from a little corn!) as I am feeling the need for a bit of lightness!

Breakfast
Green beans & broccoli

Lunch
Squash soup with watercress, nishime onion, parsnip & sweet potato, steamed carrot & celery with a lemon, miso & mustard dressing & boiled cauliflower

Snack
Squash soup with spring onion & parsley & corn on the cob & a little twig tea

Dinner
Corn on the cob, roasted parsnips, lettuce, beetroot & sauerkraut salad & boiled leek & carrots

Followed by a cup of chicory coffee with a tiny squeeze of rice syrup

Mmm, I really enjoyed eating like this today. I love macrobiotics because there is so many different ways to cook and eat. There’s so much choice with what to cook, what level you want to take your cooking to and how far you want to go with it all.

Lunch
The same as for breakfast followed by a puffed wheat crispy dessert type thing

Hello!

I am feeling very inspired after macro school which unexpectedly turned into a couple of days at a natural health show promoting macrobiotics :) I ate some absolutely beautiful food at the school this weekend cooked by students and it was so amazing.
Ahh I love macrobiotics!

Breakfast
No breakfast for me as I was recovering from a bit of late night eating last night. I can’t remember when the last time was that I ate so close to bed time and this morning it took me ages to get going! That’ll teach me!!

A mid morning tipple of mint tea

Lunch
Millet, beetroot & a kind of vegetable stew although I couldn’t tell you exactly what was in there (Dejan cooked) and I was so busy that I didn’t pay that much attention. It tasted good though!!

Some brown rice cake type thing!

Dinner
Pasta with red lentil sauce & some coconut cookies

I heard on the macro grapevine that a new macro restaurant/cafe type thing will be opening in London soon…how exciting. I hope whoever is opening it dares to call it macrobiotic!

Hello!

I have just arrived at macro school & very excited and grateful to be temporarily surrounded by many people who ‘get it’!!!

Today for breakfast I had some leftover millet pie & tofu & carrot stew & apple juice to drink

I then had a millet waffle with barley malt

Lunch was squash & millet with broccoli and horseradish followed by a millet dessert & some red bush tea

I have no idea why I had so much millet today – it just kind of happened like that

I didn’t have dinner (apart from a few pickles) as the millet dessert I had was plentiful and left me feeling as though I may not need food again for a while!

This evening I embarked upon a new adventure in my own emotional healing – a women’s psychotherapy group. I am thrilled to the bone…he he!! No but seriously, it feels like a very nourishing and strengthening step for me and I’m really happy to be taking my healing and development to another level. I urge you to do the same! ;)

Hello!

I don’t know about you but I feel as though there is some kind of time warp thing going on at the moment and each day is passing by so quickly.

I’ve had a strange but interesting couple of days post emotional regression. I am still feeling the effects now and wondering if I’ll ever get back to normal – whatever normal means!! I think I’m a little taken aback by what I experienced this weekend and need more time to process it.

Yesterday, for brunch I had amaranth and raisins and for dinner I went out for some sushi with a beautiful friend who happens to be a macrotarian too. I had no alcohol, only a really nice cup of green tea followed later by a cup of camomile. Oh yes, I must tell you that I didn’t have any alcohol at the festival either. I think this teetotalness suits me!!

Today’s menu has consisted of nothing for breakfast

Lunch – brown rice & adukis with a couple of cashews on the side!

Dinner – a full blow 3 course which consisted of squash soup, some kind of millet pie, buckwheat burger with beetroot puree, lettuce salad, carrot & tofu stew & a hijiki & parsnip dish followed by a blueberry & raspberry tart with cashew cream – yum!

Twig tea

Loads of macro love & magic

Sharlene
