Macrolicious greetings to you!

Breakfast this morning was a really lovely porridge made from brown rice, wakame, sweet potato, apple & cabbage – that sounds really weird I know but i cooked it all together and then blended it and it was so satisfying, although it was a bit like baby food!!

Lunch
Brown rice & barley, lentil stew & sauerkraut

Dinner
Roasted sweet potato & an aduki bean soup followed by some sour dough toast with blueberry jam

Amazing food, an amazing day and now I’m ready for zzzz. I arrived home late and immediately started doing some cooking for tomorrow already as I won’t have much time. It’s so important to do a bit of forward planning if you want to keep eating well during busy times.

Wishing you love and a connection to the divine

Hello!! :)

It’s so nice to be posting again. I should do it more often ;) and very soon I will!! Life is incredibly incredibly busy right now. I guess it is for everyone, but for me, I’m really finding it difficult to post regularly so I’ll do the best I can for now and once my studies are out of the way (by the end of October, I’ll be back in full macrobiotic force!!).

Today is my birthday. 30 years and here I am – wow!! My 20′s have taken me on a an incredible journey so far. I am grateful to all that life has taught me up until now and I am ready to fully embrace this next decade of being me so I can make the most of this lifetime and beyond! I am also so very grateful that macrobiotics has helped me to understand this life, myself and the future so much more…thank you macrobiotics!!

So food today…
Breakfast
I had a bite of an umeboshi plum. I was going to make a drink but I ran out of time before I had to leave the house so I had to make do with a bite rather than a drink (I was going to make an ume sho kuzu drink!!)

Lunch – prepared by Dejan
A delicious aduki & squash soup followed by baby corn & broccoli with a tahini dressing, sauerkraut rolls, beetroot & lettuce salad & an amazing pie with a brown rice bottom, a mushroomy middle and a cheese like topping. Mmm it was incredible.

a beautiful birthday cake – with a seed & wheat base, a creamy raisin middle and a strawberry & black berry topping. Mmm!!

Then I had a cup of normal black tea (which I haven’t had for as long as I can remember) with oat cream & a little barley malt

Dinner
Aduki soup, a little pie with broccoli & baby corn & dressing
Berry coulis & custard
and…a small glass of wine… :)

You know I said I had a confession to make? well, whilst we are on the subject of wine, this is the perfect time to confess that a few weeks ago I had a glass whilst Dejan and I were out for dinner. We went out and I just felt a strong desire to let my hair down a little and couldn’t resist. I had a really nice time and enjoyed it a lot. So I guess that makes me a part time teetotaler…

OK, here’s some photos from today.

Macro love & magic to y’all

Good evening!

What a wonderful day it has been :) . I’ve been eating a bit lighter lately & not over eating and wow, what a difference it has made to my energy levels and my mood.

Over eating has been such a big issue of mine in the past, and it continues to haunt me. It’s been so interesting watching this and becoming more and more aware of it and how it effects me and keeps me within a particular emotional pattern or feeling. A couple of days ago I unearthed some issues I have with my past and now I see some things that need a bit of healing, particularly around issues related to guilt and shame. I see that I can use food to bury those feelings and keep them within the confines of my being, or I can use food in a way that will help me to address and release and overcome those feelings. Now I can see my picture more clearly, I have a choice – which is something I have often felt I didn’t have. Ahh, I love it when a realisation/step closer towards health & happiness is made. It makes me feel grateful to be alive!! :)

Anyway, enough of my food woes (yes, macro people have them too because we’re human!) and onto my food highlights for the day

Breakfast was some freshly juiced carrot, apple & celery

Snack – a date, cashew & raisin bar

Lunch – a soup made from millet, squash, carrots, onions & wakame followed by the most amazing dessert…made from chestnuts & melon. OMG! It was sooo good. I have to share this recipes because it was so nice and simple:

Ingredients: 1 cup of dried chestnuts (pressure cooked until soft), 1/2 a melon (I think this one was a gala melon, but I’m no melon expert and I can’t be 100% sure without getting up & checking which I’m not overly keen on doing right now!!).

Put melon into a saucepan and add a pinch of salt and enough water to cover. Simmer for 10 minutes until it’s soft. Add chestnuts and blend & there you have it, one very delicious dessert :)

Dinner
Millet burger, stuffed onions with seitan, home made sauerkraut,, boiled carrots & cucumber

Followed by chestnut, aduki & apple pudding

3 sweet things in one day…oops! Perhaps not so good for my kidneys or large intestine but definitely good for my soul!!! ;) (I can always find a great excuse why I should have a dessert!!)

Oh yes, I have another confession to make too, but I’ll say that for another time! Now, I must make my way to zzzz land to regenerate ready for another day of life!

I almost forgot, I made some seitan last night too & cooked it today. I’ll post a photo. Whenever I make seitan, I always think I must make it more often because I love it.

Ok, a long post from me…you see what happens when the liver energy starts flowing better… :)

Happy days!

Love & light

wow, how time flies huh?!

Lots of exciting macro things happening at the moment. I am sorry to be missing things right now (like the macro seminar in Serbia a couple of weeks ago, One world macro camp in UK last week amongst other thing) and the Kushi macro conferences going on. I have promised myself that I will get to all of these events at some point.

I am so busy right now and already can’t wait for my macro studies to be over and done with. Although admittedly, it’s going to be so strange not going to macro school any more. I am already missing it!!

Today’s menu consisted of:

Breakfast – nothing because hunger was no where to be felt

Lunch – a soup made from 3 sea vegetables (hijiki, wakame & kombu – I felt the need for a mineral boost!), squash, onions & beans), brown basmati rice (mmm, I’m loving this at the moment) with a radish, carrot & onion stir fry & some saltless gomashio (goma!!)

Followed by a fruit slice (made with raisins, dried apples, sunflower seeds), a fruit and nut bar & some rice cracker and chickpea snack type things

Apple & elderflower juice

Dandelion coffee and a couple of apricots

Dinner
A light vegetable broth with leeks & carrots

That’s all folks

I’ll be back soon!
