Macrobiotic lecture in London

On the May 15 2009

Presented by: Tomio Kikushi

Tomio Kikuchi is in London 15th May 2009. And who, you may well ask, is Tomio Kikuchi? Well, he is a Japanese Brazilian who, in 1955 (after many years of searching and studying in Japan with George Ohsawa), emigrated to Sao Paulo in order to share his knowledge of macrobiotics.

He went with his wife Bernadette and five children and fifty five years later Tomio Kikuchi is as active and enthusiastic as ever; he has established family style centres all over South America.

He spread an independent style of macrobiotics which pays fundamental respect for what and how we eat as well strategic thinking, breathing and movement, for as he says, to a large extent our lifestyle is indeed, our destiny!

In order to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Darwin, with whom he shares a birthday, the title of the lecture will be SURVIVAL – continuous education, crisis and evolution.

Don’t be put off by the word crisis, it’s not that bad! No, quite the opposite Tomio Kikuchi has confirmed, and common sense can tell you, that whatever we do, however hard we try and however much we hope things do go wrong!

So whilst trying to create sustaining habits, Kikuchi simply proposes that we can continuously strive to transform ‘mistakes’, for the mistake can be the most powerful point of learning, in fact it’s not a mistake at all it’s a chance to re-take!

Here we are then at a potentially dreadful point in history and Kikuchi finds it hopeful, or at least auspicious. He is a flowing speaker, a fund of wisdom and I do commend him to you; he is a great story teller, has a lively mind and a big heart. He has an instinctive understanding of people and loves to learn from nature.

Whether you are just beginning to take an interest in macrobiotics, have been around it for years or are just plain interested in life and all it has to offer – we would be pleased to see you.
